4. Jh. v. Chr. H 19,5cm, ø Körper 8,7cm. Glanztonware mit Ritzungen und Bemalung in Rot, Gelb und Weiß. Auf dem Hals Eierstab, Tropfen und Efeuranken, auf dem Körper Girlande.
Sehr seltene Vasenform! Provenienz: Ex Gorny & Mosch Auktion 300, München 2023, Los 30; ex Sammlung P. Treffz-Eichhöfer, Stuttgart, gesammelt in den 1980er bis 1990er Jahren.
Zu einer ähnlichen Kanne, bei der ein Lekythoskörper und ein Kannenhals mit flacher, profilierter Mündung kombiniert sind, vgl. zum Beispiel die Kanne Archäologisches Nationalmuseum Neapel 80854: Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum 3 Taf. 65, 3; Beazley Archive Pottery Database 9003965.
Very rare olpe of the Gnathia Ware. 4th century BC. Height 19,5cm, ø corpus 8,7cm. Black glazed ware with incised decor, painting in red, yellow and white. On the neck egg-and-dart, oblong tears and ivy-tendrils, on the corpus a garland. Tiny chippings of color and black glaze, otherwise intact. The unusual form combines the corpus of a lekythos with the neck and mouth of an olpe.
