Paar apulische rotfigurige Epichyses der Menzies-Gruppe.
335 - 325 v. Chr. H 19,6cm und 19,8cm, ø Körper 8cm und 8,2cm. Schnabelkannen für Duftöle mit ovoidem Körper, seitlich des oberen Henkelansatzes je eine Frauenkopfapplik. Die etwas kleinere Kanne zeigt eine junge Frau mit Sphendone, Fächer und Tänie vor einem Altar, auf dem größeren Exemplar, ebenfalls vor einem Altar stehend, ein Eros mit Sphendone, Spiegel und Tänie. Details in Weiß und Gelb. Insbesondere bei der jungen Frau lässt sich eine sehr qualitätvolle Zeichnung feststellen.

Pair of Apulian red-figure epichyses of the Menzies Group. 335 - 325 BC. Height 19,6cm and 19,8cm, ø corpus 8cm and 8,2cm. Beaked jug for cosmetic oil with ovoid corpus, above on the sides of each handle an appliqué in form of a woman´s head. On one jug a young woman with sphendone, fan and tainia standing in front of an altar, on the other jug the same motif with an Eros holding instead of the fan a mirror. Details in white and yellow. Very fine drawing style visible especially at the woman.
2 pieces! Tiny chippings at the foot of the Eros-jug, otherwise intact.
