Attische nolanische Amphora des Alkimachos-Malers.
460 - 450 v. Chr. H 33,1cm, ø 18,6cm, ø Mündung 14,6cm, ø Fuß 8,8cm. Rotfigurig. Auf der Vs. verfolgt ein ithyphallischer Satyr eine nach links eilende Mänade, die ein Pantherfell trägt und einen Thyrsos hält. Dazwischen in kleinen roten Buchstaben ΜΕΛΗΤΟΣ ΚΑΛΟΣ. Rückwärtig ein Manteljüngling mit Gehstock. Unter den Bildfeldern kleine Mäander.

Attic red-figure Nolan amphora of the Alkimachos Painter. 460 - 450 B.C. On one side a satyr pursues a maenad with thyrsos and pantherskin, between the figures ΜΕΛΗΤΟΣ ΚΑΛΟΣ. On the other side a draped youth with stick. Below the figures small meanders. Reassembled from fragments, the cracks are slightly retouched, otherwise complete.
