Rotfiguriger Volutenkrater.
Aus der Werkstatt des Patera- und Ganymed-Malers. Apulisch, 330 - 320 v. Chr. H 66,3cm, B 40,6cm, ø Mündung 34,9cm, ø Körper 33,5cm, ø Fuß 17,3cm. Rote, weiße und gelbe Details, teilweise rötlicher Überzug. Plastische Köpfe von Jünglingen mit phrygischer Mütze auf den Henkelvoluten und vier Schwanenköpfe auf dem Hals. Auf der Vorderseite der verstorbene Jüngling als Athlet mit Strigilis, Athletenbesteck, Gehstock und Schultermantel in Naiskos. Seitlich eine junge Frau mit Kranz und Schachtel sowie ein Jüngling mit Spiegel und Spendenschale. Darüber auf dem Hals Panskopf im Blätterkelch zwischen fantasievollen Blütenranken. Auf der Rückseite Grabstele zwischen junger Frau mit Zweig und Spendenschale und Jüngling mit Spiegel und Palmzweigen.

Red-figure volute krater from the Workshop of the Patera and Ganymed Painter. Apulian, 330 - 320 B.C. With red, white and yellow details and partially reddish slip. With plastically formed heads of youths with Phrygian caps on the volutes and four heads of swans on the shoulder. On the frontside in heroic nudity the deceased youth as an athlete inside a naiskos. Left and right a woman with wreath and box and a youth with mirror and bowl. Above on the shoulder the head of Pan arising from a calyx of leaves, around fanciful tendrils and flowers. On the backside a grave stele between a woman with branch and bowl and a youth with mirror and palm branches. Reassembled from fragments, missing fragments at the cracks and small missing parts are retouched.
