ca. 1470 - 1532 n. Chr. B 78cm, L 51cm. Großer Inka-Poncho aus Baumwolle in 14 Längsstreifen gewebt, alternierend zwischen monochrom braun und einem rotbraunen Zick-Zack-Muster. An den Seiten zusammengenäht.

Provenienz: 1970-1996 Bertrand de Parseval, Südfrankreich; in Deutschland seit 1996, Sammlung U. C.

Perfectly preserved Inca-Tunic woven in cotton with stripe decoration in solid brown and zigzag pattern. Some minor holes in the fabric, otherwise intact. 1470-1532 AD.

Teil eines breiten Schmuckgürtels.
Chancay, 1000 - 1400 n. Chr. L 59cm. Wolle. Dreifarbiges Doppelgewebe, bei dem die roten Fäden zwischen beige-dunkelblauen Motiven liegen. Das Motiv zeigt eine hybride Darstellung, bei der ein Felide durch einen Seevogel ergänzt wird (Interlocking-Stil). Sehr qualifiziert ausgeführtes Gewebe! Mit ausführlicher Beschreibung des Sammlers!

Buddha.
Gandhara, ca. 3. - 5. Jh. n.Chr. H 19,8cm. Bronzehohlguss. Auf einem mit Löwenköpfen geschmückten Postament stehender Buddha, seine Rechte in abhaya Mudra, seine Linke hält den Saum der Robe. Der Kopf ist leicht nach vorne geneigt, die mit Silber eingelegten Augen leicht geöffnet, schauen dem Betrachter entgegen. Im Rücken ein Aufsatz, ursprünglich zur Befestigung des Heiligenscheins und Nimbus. Sehr selten und von ausgezeichneter Erhaltung! Mit Beschreibung des Sammlers!

Bronze figure of standing Buddha, his right hand in abhaya mudra, with his left holding the folds of his robe; head leaned slightly forward, silver inlayed eyes are half opened; in the back support for a halo; base with heads of lions. Gandhara, around 3rd - 5th century AD. Very rare and in an exceptional condition! Base broken, small breakage in the left temple, professionally cleaned and slightly toned. With description of the collector!

Maitreya.
Gandhara (möglicherweise Mardan Distrikt), ca. 3. - 4. Jh. n. Chr. H (ohne Sockel) 18,6cm. Grauer Schiefer. Stehender Bodhisattva in langem uttariya, das fast den ganzen Oberkörper frei lässt, und dhoti, das bis zu seinen Knöcheln fällt. Der Kopf von einem großen Halo umgeben, das lange Haar fällt auf die Schultern, vor der Ushnisha ein Knoten mit zwei großen Locken, die auf den Stirn fallen. Um den Hals und auf dem Körper trägt er ein breites Halsband und zwei Amutellenfäden. In der linken Hand hält er ein prächtiges Wassergefäß. Selten! Detaillierte Bearbeitung!

Grey shist standing figure of Maitreya in long uttariya and dhoti, wearing earrings, necklace and two amulet threads; head surrounded by a big halo, at the ushnisha a knot with two on the forehead falling curls; holding a splendid water pot in his left hand. Gandhara Region, ca. 5. - 7. Jh. n. Chr. H (ohne Sockel) 13,5cm. Stucco. Feines, rundliches Gesicht; mit Ushnisha und langen Ohrläppchen. Besonders ist das Haar, das aus separat gefertigten und befestigten Muschel- und Schnecken-förmigen Locken besteht. Späte Periode!

Small stucco head of Buddha or a Bodhisattva. Fine, plump face, with long earlobes and ushnisha. Rare are the crescent- and snail-shell-like curls, manufactured and attached separately to the head. Gandhara region, around 5th - 7th century AD. Late period! Hair curls partially broken off, right ear and chin damaged, back of the head repaired and secured, with a stand.

Beautiful tray with Gautama or a Bodhisattva in company of two women playing drums. Possibly a szene from the Buddhas palace life. Edge decorated with flowers ornament. Gandhara, around 2nd - 5th century AD. Both women missing a hand, four small holes in background between the figures.

Gandhara, ca. 2. - 5. Jh. n. Chr. Ø 11cm. Grauer Schiefer. Im oberen eingetieften Feld ein Bodhisattva vor einer Gemeinschaft der Patronen und Gottheiten sowie einem geflügelten Wesen. Die zwei unteren Register sind durch ein Band mit Rhombenmuster abgesetzt und mit einem Fisch unterteilt. Die Rückseite mit Lotusdiskus und Perlstab am Rand.

Relieffragment einer Stupa-Trommel.
Gandhara, 4. - 5. Jh. n. Chr. L 44,5cm, H 13cm. Grauer Schiefer. Unter dem Konsolengeison drei Szenen durch Säulen unterteilt. Dargestellt sind jeweils der unter dem Baum sitzende Buddha Amitabha (links mit Mudra der Weisheit und rechts mit Mudra der Meditation) mit seinen Verehrern, in der rechten Szene nur zwei Anbeter erhalten.

Buddha in Kontemplation.
Laos, ca. 16. Jh. H 64,5cm. Bronzefigur des auf einer heptogonalem Lotusbasis stehenden Buddha, Arme entlang des Körpers haltend, angezogen in antaravasaka und uttarasanga, das letzte am unteren Rand sichelförmig. Klassischer Stil!

Bronze figure of contemplating Buddha, standing on a heptogonal lotus base with his hands along the body, wearing antravasaka and uttarasanga, the latter falling down in a crescent shape. Laos, around 16th century. Classical style! Black and red patina, top of the ushnisha not preserved.

Großer Kopf des Buddha.
Thailand, Ayutthaya-Stil, ca. 15. - 16. Jh. H (ohne Ständer) 36,5cm. Sandstein, überlebensgroß. Die Haarlinie entspricht der Gestaltung der gewölbten Augenbrauen, die an der Nase zusammentreffen; die kleine Augen leicht geöffnet; der breite Mund zu einem leichten Lächeln verzogen.

Zentralthailand, U-Thong, 1. Hälfte des 15. Jhs. H 30,5cm. Bronzeguss mit Resten des originalen Gusskerns. Ausdruck des tiefen samadhi, längliche Kopfform mit langen, leicht spitzen Ohren.

Bronze cast head of Gautama Buddha; typical elongated head and slightly pointed ears as well as a thin band along the hairline. Central Thailand, U-Thong, 1st half of 15th century. Greenish patina, broken at neck, a breakage in the back of the head around 13cm, top of the ushnisha missing.

Thailand, Chiang-Saen, um 15. Jh. H ohne Ständer 12cm, mit Ständer 19,5cm. Bronzeguss, kleine Reste der Vergoldung. Schönes, ruhiges Antlitz mit leicht geöffneten Augen und feinem Lächeln.

Großartige Figur des Vajrapani.
Sinotibetisch, 18. - 19. Jh. H 26cm. Bronze feuervergoldet, in drei Teilen gegossen, Details bemalt. Die zornvolle Gottheit, Schützer des Glaubens und "Herr der Geheimnisse" - Vajrapani, dargestellt in pratyalidhasana vor einer Flammenmandorla. In seiner Rechten hält er ein vajra Zepter, in der Linken ein Lasso, das Mudra des Zorns am Herz ausführend. Ein Tigerfell bedeckt seine Hüften und ein Schal liegt über den Schultern; der Körper ist mit Juwelen geschmückt; über das rote Haar, das dem Feuer gleich nach oben steigt, eine Krone aus fünf Schädeln. Der zornvolle Ausdruck seines Gesichtes ist durch die drei weit geöffneten, realistisch bemalten Augen hervorgehoben. Der Lotussockel von unten verschlossen und mit einem doppelten vajra verziert. Meisterwerk!

A gilded and painted bronze figure of Vajrapani, cast in three parts. The wrathful deity, protector of faith and Lord of Secrets, depicted in pratyalidhasana in front of a flaming mandorla. In his right hand a vajra scepter, in his left a lasso, performing the mudra of anger at the heart. A tiger skin covers his hips and a band sways over his shoulders; body adorned with jewels; over the red fire-like hair a crown of five skulls. The wrathful expression of his face is highlighted by the three wide opened, realistically painted eyes. The bottom of the lotus base closed and decorated with a double vajra. Sinotibetan, 18th - 19th century.
Masterpiece! Gilding and pigment partially rubbed off, a foot of the mandorla repaired, otherwise very good condition.

Seltene Figur des Vaishravana.
Sinotibetisch, 18. Jh. H 19,5cm. Bronze feuervergoldet. Der weltliche Wächter des buddhistischen Glaubens und der "König des Nordens" sitzt auf einem Schneelöwen - seinem Reittier (spätere Tradition der Darstellung). Angezogen mit einer Kriegsrüstung und Stiefeln, mit einem Schal um die Schultern und einer Krone. In seiner linken Hand hält er eine Manguste als Symbol des Reichtums, in der rechten befand sich ursprünglich ein langer Stock mit einer Fahne (das bestätigt das Standloch im Boden vor der Figur), nun hält er ein später zugefügtes Attribut. Der Lotos-Sockel ist von unten durch eine mit vajra verzierten Plakette verschlossen. Ausgezeichneter Stil, feine Bearbeitung!

A rare gilded bronze figure of Vaishravana. The protector deity, named King of the North, depicted sitting on a snow lion (later tradition), wearing armor and a crown, holding a mongoose as a symbol of wealth and an attribute added in modern times (originally holding a banner on a long pole - confirmed by the hole in the ground in front of the figure). The bottom closed and incised with a vajra depiction. Sinotibetan, 18th century. Excellent style, fine detailled work! Gilding partially rubbed off, attribute in the right hand modern, tiny dent on the nose, otherwise very good condition.

Miniaturfiguren-Paar.
Tibet (?), ca. 19. - 20. Jh. H je 6,9cm. Kupfer vergoldet, Haare blau bemalt. Jeweils auf einer Lotusbasis stehend, in prächtiger Kleidung und mit Schmuck. Vor sich hält eine Figur das shanka, die andere ein rechteckiges, gefaltetes Tuch.

Provenienz: Ex Sammlung Dr. Günter Wiedner, Bayern, 1980er Jahre bis 2015; ex Gorny & Mosch München, Auktion 272 (März 2020), Los 625 (verkauft für 2.400 aber unbezahlt).
